因为平时也做过很多经济雪人精读笔记之类的工作，我对经济雪人的风格也算是比较了解。难点之一在于生词多，明明完全可以用简单的词来代替，它却非要用一些比较生僻难度较大的词，这增加了理解的难度，这时候就要祭出我们的猜词大法，去大胆地猜测。难点之二在于长难句，比其他的外刊更绕，句子之间还经常会出现两个破折号夹着一个插入成分这种结构，另外经常出现的代词it也不知道到底指代的是什么。可以说难度上比一般的英译汉稍大。

这篇中同样出现了较多生词，如“apex, megafauna, litany, annihilate, abetted, measles, subset, bipedal”等。同时一些长难句如“before that, the colonization of the americas by europeans was abetted...”等想要翻译得通顺还是要推敲一番的。如果从来没有接触过经济雪人的朋友，做这篇可能会比较吃力。此前就给大家说过考mti前期打基础很重要的是多输入一些原版材料，经济雪人就是很好的输入。除了句式单词的积累外，里面的一些思辨性的东西也值得我们学习。就比如复旦2021的基础英语作文题，要不要禁止跨性别女性参加女性体育赛事？经济雪人就曾经刊载过类似的文章。现在高校mti基英作文题越来越向gre方向发展，越来越喜欢考思辨性的题目。平时多看外刊多积累一些思维方式还是有好处的。
