注：preserve在这里做名词，它在本句话中的具体英文解释是：activities, interests, etc regarded asbelonging to a particular person (被认为某人所专有的活动﹑ 爱好), 所以这里可以引申翻译为“专利”。 再比如：Sheregards negotiating prices with customers as her special preserve.她把与顾客讨价还价看作自己的专长.
